Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Matsuri Atlas, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform or services.

Service Description

Matsuri Atlas is a marketplace platform connecting travelers with authentic Japanese festival experiences, including Bon Odori workshops, shrine ceremonies, kimono rentals, and cultural tours. We also provide tools for festival organizers to manage events and connect with participants.

User Accounts and Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Booking and Payment Terms

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the experience provider. Payment is required at the time of booking. Cancellation policies vary by experience and are clearly stated during the booking process.

User Conduct and Responsibilities

Users must respect Japanese cultural traditions, follow the guidance of cultural instructors, dress appropriately for sacred spaces, and behave respectfully during all experiences. Disruptive behavior may result in removal from experiences without refund.

Cultural Sensitivity and Respect

Participation in traditional Japanese festivals and ceremonies requires cultural sensitivity. Users must follow all guidelines provided by organizers, respect sacred spaces and rituals, and understand that some experiences have specific dress codes or behavioral requirements.

Intellectual Property Rights

All content on Matsuri Atlas, including text, images, logos, and software, is protected by intellectual property laws. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Third-Party Providers

Festival experiences are provided by independent organizers, shrine committees, and cultural instructors. While we vet our partners, we are not responsible for the quality or safety of third-party services, though we will assist in resolving any issues.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation policies vary by experience provider and are clearly stated during booking. Generally, cancellations made 48 hours or more in advance are eligible for full refunds, while later cancellations may incur fees or be non-refundable.

Limitation of Liability

Matsuri Atlas acts as a marketplace platform. Our liability is limited to the booking fees paid. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or participation in experiences.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures in performance due to circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, weather conditions, government actions, or other events that may affect festival schedules.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Japanese law. The arbitration will be conducted in English and Japanese as needed.

Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through email or platform notifications. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
